Born Marion Robert Morrison in 1907, John
Wayne began life in a modest home in
Winterset. The home has been restored to its 1907 appearance with authentic
furnishings, and memorabilia. Guided tours are available from 10:00am to 4:30pm
daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's day.

Earlham's History Is Lovingly Preserved In The
Original 1860's Home Of Founders David & Mary Hockett. The Hockett House
Museum is OPEN to the Public Every Sunday 2pm to 5pm From Memorial Weekend To
September 30th. Admission is Free.

Winterset Art Center
Located one block west of the Birthplace of
John Wayne, the Art Center features
paintings, prints, posters and other artwork by local
artists, as well as a
display honoring George Washington Carver. The 1854-era home was
once used as a
stop on the Underground Railroad.
