Prosecutes crimes committed in the county, and enforces laws of
the state
Defends the county and state in all actions brought against them
Draws indictments for grand jury
Collects money due on forfeited bonds
Legal advisor for Board of Supervisors and all other county offices
Other duties as provided by Iowa Code §331.756 (2007)

No one is eligible for this office who has not been admitted to the bar or whose
license is suspended or revoked
Miscellaneous Information: Court Service days are held on Mondays, unless pre-empted by a Court approved
holiday, in which case Court Service will generally be held on the following
Tuesday.

custody status and register to receive telephone and e-mail notification when
the offender’s custody status changes.
