  Madison County Public Health Services Information

 

BLOOD PRESSURE CLINICS are held 4 times per month at varying places, and are FREE:

Earlham Meal Site on 3rd Tuesday of month at 11:00 AM

Macksburg at The Cafe on the 1st Friday of month at 10:00 AM

Winterset Meal Site on 2nd Thursday of month at 11:00 AM
Winterset - Northward Plaza 2nd Tuesday of month at 9:00 AM

CHILD & ADULT IMMUNIZATIONS

  -> Immunization Clinics held the Second Saturday every month from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Child Immunization given any time throughout the day and by appointments.
Immunizations are FREE for all children who meet one of the following criteria:
  1. Have no medical insurance
  2. Have Title 19
  3. Have medical insurance that does not pay for vaccines/immunizations
  4. Are American Indian or Native Alaskan

If child does not meet the above criteria, than only charge is the vaccine expense.

Adult vaccinations are given at any time throughout day; we encourage a call the day before so vaccine can be acquired.  Charge is the vaccine expense.
 

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE INVESTIGATIONS

Occurs at varying times of the year, depending upon what is needed.
It entails calling affected persons and making further contacts with others who may have been exposed.
Referrals as needed for exposures.
Work with Iowa Department of Public Health on all cases.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Planning in conjunction with Local Emergency Manager, Iowa Department of Public Health, Law Enforcement, and Emergency services.
Emergency plans for all county residents in the event of any disaster, either natural, biological, or terrorist.
Group sessions can be planned for any Madison County residents for preparedness.  Just call for information: (515) 462-9051.

HOMEMAKER SERVICES

Homemaker Services are provided to Madison County Residents per sliding fee schedule.  Funding for the program is provided through state grants, private pay, sliding fee, waiver services, and county.
Services include but not limited to light housekeeping, laundry, essential shopping, and personal cares.

NEWBORN HOME VISITS / GROWING FAMILIES

Free program funded by Madison County Empowerment Board.
All newborn infants / families qualify.
A home visiting service for newborn infants and families.
Benefits include:
